The Hydraulic Ram Water-Lifting Technology

A Hydraulic Ram is a device that can pump water to a location higher than the water source and the Ram, using only the force of moving water passing through the pump itself (it has no engine or motor).  Almost like a perpetual-motion machine powered by moving water, it can operate 24 hours a day with no fuel costs, and has only 2 moving parts.

R.A. Initiatives’ ram pumps are capable of lifting water up to 100 meters at an output of up to 25 liters per minute, and can operate with a minimum fall of 1.5 meters.

Ram pumps are ideal for lifting water for irrigation or household use in places above or near moving bodies of water such as rivers, streams or creeks. Several ram pumps can be installed in parallel, with individual drive pipes and shared delivery pipe, to lift large volumes of water if required. The folllowing photos show actual system components described in the diagram shown in the above link.
